This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that should not be missed if you can afford it. I have done it three times, and each time I was thoroughly impressed. The gorillas are an endangered species, and currently, Uganda has the highest population of them compared to Rwanda and Congo.
Trekking takes place in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which offers a beautiful and immersive experience in this dense forest, allowing you to feel truly connected to nature. You will trek to find the gorillas and spend one hour with them. You won’t believe how close you get to these magnificent creatures. 4. Safari in the Wild
Uganda has got a couple of National Park to visit depending on how much time you have. Murchison Falls is spectacular with waterfalls within the pack that flow through a diameter of 7 meters. The sound of the roaring water is outstanding when you watch it from above. You can have a little trek from the top down the water falls while you see the falls from different angles. There are tons of animals since this park is enormous, you will get to see som elephants, hynas, giraffes, anterleopes, crocodiles and various bird species. Did I say Ernest Hemingway used to come to this park back in the day?
Kidepo National Park is one underrated park. Being remote, few people visit it yet it’s among the best National Parks in Africa. The drive in this region is amazing, with the rocky landscapes, once in the park, it’s expansive with hills in the far distance, which look like a painting. Doing a game drive in this park is simply fascinating. There are other parks to explore, like Lake Mburo National Park, where you can cycle. Queen Elizabeth is known for the Kazinga channel, which has many different bird species that escape the winter in Europe to break from the cold.

5. Jinja and the Nile.
While the exact origins of the Nile River have sparked many debates, Uganda proudly claims the Source of the Nile, located in Jinja. Remarkably, the water travels about 90 days before reaching Egypt. On your journey to Jinja, make sure to stop and admire the stunning Sezibwa Falls, explore the lush Mabira Forest, or observe the diverse birdlife. Jinja offers an abundance of thrilling activities for adventure enthusiasts, including white-water rafting and kayaking on the mighty Nile. You can also enjoy biking through picturesque villages, experience the adrenaline rush of bungee jumping, or go quad biking and horse riding. For a more tranquil experience, take a boat ride on the Nile to witness the source or enjoy a breathtaking sunset – it’s a perfect way to unwind amidst nature’s beauty.

6. Try food and fruits!
Uganda is a vibrant agricultural paradise, and you absolutely must dive into its incredible food scene! I’ve been hearing nothing but praises from my clients about the stunning selection of fruits. You’ve got to indulge in the bananas—they come in various types perfect for eating, brewing into beer, or blending into juices! And don’t even get me started on the mangoes, pineapples, and jackfruit; they’re simply out of this world!
