Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL AND PICK UP

This is the day you arrive in Uganda. You will be picked up from the airport and taken to your hotel by the driver. Depending on arrival time, you can check and relax and go on an optional city walking tour.

DAY 2: KAMPALA - MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK.

You will be picked up from your hotel to start your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. The drive will take you through the famous Luwero triangle and Budongo forest, located on the western arm of the Great Rift Valley. The entire drive takes approximately 5 hours, during which you will get to see some picturesque views. Do not forget to keep your camera out and ready!
We will make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you can see the Rhinos if interested. After this, we will have our lunch and then continue our journey towards the park.

Once we reach the park, we will drive to the top of the falls, where you can witness the Nile River in all its glory. You will see the river Nile forcing itself through a narrow gorge, falling about 150 ft down, producing a thunderous roar of white water – truly magnificent scenery!

Finally, we will transfer you to your hotel for a well-deserved rest.

DAY 3: GAME DRIVE LAUNCH CRUISE ON THE NILE DELTA

We will start our day with an early breakfast, followed by our first game drive through the park. You will have the opportunity to witness a parade of elephants, giraffes, buffalos, and other animal species. During the game drive, you can try to spot a lion or leopard or observe and list the different kinds of animals you see. After the game drive, we will have lunch.

In the afternoon, we will go for a calm boat cruise along the Nile to the bottom of the mighty Murchison Falls. Along the banks, you can look for some hippos a dazzling array of birdlife, such as kingfishers, cormorants, bee-eaters, and the rare shoebill stork. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for Nile crocodiles! As we get closer, sharpen your ears for the thunderous and electrifying sound of the famous waterfall. We will disembark from the boat and return to the lodge.

DAY 4: MURCHISON FALLS - KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

We will be leaving Murchison Falls National Park early in the morning to head to Kibale National Park via the Kyenjojo/Fort Portal Road. Upon arrival, we will have lunch and take some time to relax. Later in the afternoon, we will go for a community walk where we can experience the local way of life. We will witness the process of planting, roasting, and brewing coffee and learn how to make banana juice and beer from bananas. We will also see different plantations and other available activities for the day.

DAY 5: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING – BIGODI WALK, WETLAND

Tomorrow, we have an early start as we head to the ranger station in Kibale Forest for chimpanzee tracking. This forest is known as the primate capital of the world, with 13 different species, seven of which are active during the day, including baboons and chimps. As we walk through the beautiful forest, we’ll also have the opportunity to spot other primates like mangabeys, colobus monkeys, bush babies, and more. An informative guide will accompany us on the trek, making this experience both enjoyable and educational.

After the trek, we’ll return to the hotel for lunch. You can relax by the pool or take an optional walk in the Bigodi w etland, popular among bird lovers and nature enthusiasts.

Alternatively, you can take a short walking tour to explore some of the many crater lakes in the area and enjoy the stunning scenery.

DAY 6 TRANSFER TO BWINDI

We will have breakfast and then head to Bwindi Forest where we will spend a night before our gorilla trekking adventure. The drive takes around 6 hours, but it’s worth it because the scenery is breathtaking. Be sure to capture the beauty that catches your eye during the journey.
After we arrive, we will take the rest of the afternoon off to relax and prepare for our trekking excursion the following day.

DAY 7: GORILLA TREKKING

Today is the day you will go tracking the gorillas. It is essential to have breakfast at 6:30 a.m. before you head out for the briefing with the ranger guides. The drive to Bwindi takes approximately 1 hour.

Remember to carry enough water, a packed lunch, a rain jacket, gloves, and insect repellent, and don’t forget to wear good hiking boots. The guides will lead you inside the jungle to witness these beautiful and unique primates, which can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The tracking may take between 2 and 9 hours, depending on the group you have been assigned, but it will be worth every step you take on this hike. Once you finish the tracking, you can spend the afternoon relaxing or taking a boat ride, depending on the trekking location.

DAY 8: TRANSFER BACK TO KAMPALA OR AIRPORT WITH A LUNCH STOP IN MBARARA

After breakfast, we will proceed to Kampala and stop at the Equator Line for lunch and photos.
