8 Days Western Uganda.
Day 1: Arrival at the Airport
Our guide will pick you up for transfer to Kampala. Kampala is known as the city of 7 hills just like Rome. It is also one of the busiest cities in Africa which you will notice upon entry. Kampala is Uganda’s Capital City. Depending on your time of arrival, you will have a short walking tour of Kampala. (Optional)
Your Overnight stay and dinner will be at Lake Victoria Serena Hotel/ Kampala Sheraton Hotel/ Cassia Lodge (BB) or a hotel of your choice.
DAY 2: KAMPALA – MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK.
You will be picked up from your
hotel to start the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. You will go
through the famous Luwero triangle, Budongo forest on the western arm of the
Great Rift Valley.
The journey offers great views that are picturesque so be sure to keep your cameras out. You will drive to the top of the falls where the Nile shows its perfection. You will witness the calm Nile forcing its self through a narrow gorge to fall a distance of about 150 ft down producing a thunderous roar of white water- magnificent scenery! Later you will be transferred to board the Ferry to Paraa Safari Lodge (Luxury) Budongo Eco Lodge / Sambiya River Lodge/Murchison River Lodge (Midrange), Redchilli Rest Camp (Budget). Here you will have your dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3: GAME DRIVE LAUNCH CRUISE ON THE NILE DELTA
After an early breakfast, we shall embark on our first game drive through the park. Witness a parade of Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalos, and other animal species. Enjoy the game by trying spot a Lion or Leopard or simply listing the different kinds of animals you will see. After the game drive we shall go for lunch.
In the afternoon, we will take a calm boat cruise along the Nile to the bottom of the mighty Murchison Falls. Look out for some Hippos, a dazzling array of birdlife along the banks like kingfishers, cormorants, bee-eaters and the rare shoebill stork and not forgetting the Nile Crocodiles! Sharpen your ears for the thunderous and electrifying sound of the famous waterfall as you get closer. We shall disembark from the boat and return to the Lodge for Dinner and an Overnight stay as stated above. (FB)
DAY 4: MURCHISON FALLS – KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
We shall have an early start departing from Murchison Falls National Park heading to Kibale National Park in the afternoon through Kyenjojo/Fort portal Road. You will have dinner and an overnight stay at the Primates Lodge / Mountains of the Moon Hotel / Chimps’ Nest (FB)
DAY 5: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING – BIGODI WALK, WETLAND
Very early in the morning, we shall report to the ranger station for the chimpanzee tracking in the forest. Kibale forest is known as the PRIMATE capital of the world with 13 species. Seven of these species are active during the day (Chimps and Baboons). Whilst walking through beautiful forest, you will witness other primates like the colobus monkeys, Mangabeys, baboons, Bushbabies etc. You will explore with an informative guide who will make this experience worthwhile. After trackng, you will go for lunch and later in the afternoon, you will go for a walk in Bigodi Wetland (well known for bird watching) sanctuary for plenty of birds and rare fauna and flora. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Ndali Lodge/ Primates Lodge (Luxury), Chimp Nest Tree House/ Chimpanzee View Guest house(Midrange) /Rwenzori travellers Inn (Budget). (FB)
DAY 6: TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Have your breakfast before we check out of the Hotel; we shall proceed and have a tour of Fortportal Town.
In afternoon we shall head to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will have Lunch before visiting the Fishing Villages and Salt Lakes of Katwe. Later return to your Lodge for Dinner and an Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Ihamba Safari Lodge / Enganzi Lodge / Kingfisher Lodge / Simba Safari Camp (FB)
DAY 7: GAME DRIVE, BOAT CRUISE ON KAZINGA CHANNEL
As you wake up, your breakfast will be awaiting. The morning safari of Queen Elizabeth National Park will start around 7:00 am. We shall depart for a sunrise game drive on the northern parts of the park along the Kasenyi track. It is a favourable time for the Big Cats to get active on their daily hunts. We will drive around the crater Lakes in search of Leopards, Lions, Hyenas, Uganda Kobs and other wildlife. We shall return for breakfast and relax by the pool before the boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. On the afternoon boat cruise, you will look out for Buffaloes, Hippos, crocodiles, elephants and other animals at the edge of the channel as they cool off. There are tons of birds along the channel and several European migrant birds like the terns and gulls that congregate here in large flocks. Dinner and Overnight stay as mentioned above.
DAY 8: TRANSFER BACK TO KAMPALA WITH A
LUNCH STOP IN MBARARA
Right after breakfast, we shall Proceed to Kampala. We shall make stop at the Equator Line and the Drum Makers’ workshops.
Arrive in time for your transfer to the Airport to catch your Flight.
